Dunnabyte Software Company of Canada
Review
Released in February 1999
Reviewed on February 23 1999

First of all, one must be aware that this piece of software was the first
one released by this company in 1999. Cyclosoft's track record for
excellence is marred by its own desire to build on what others have
already built. It is also the first version of  this line of word processors,
with many projected updates to come. One must keep these factors in
mind when considering this review.

First off, I'd like to say this: What the programmer did right, was
to blatantly copy a template from Borland C++ Builder. This ensured
that his interface would be a tried and tested one, which is something
that many (not all) of Cyclosoft programs have lacked in the past.
Spelling errors are nil (which I expect from a program), and setup
ran successfully).

It's too bad then that some design oversights and overall blandness
kill this program off. Initially, one gets the (correct) impression
that they have seen this all before... They also own it... in the
form of Wordpad... and at least in that program you can search for
text. Originality is extremely rare, and the about screen (pictured)
is about as exciting as it gets (oooh... a nice graphic... wow...
whatever).

And as a final deathblow to this application, the programmer mindlessly
forgot to allow the user to indent text... pressing the tab key
places your cursor in the font list.

I can only hope that this travesty of a word processor will improve
as it is upgraded, for if Cyclosoft is staking its livelyhood
on WordZee 4.0, there is little hope for its survival .
